Learning Package 2026: a week of learning culminating in the presentation of certificates of attendance

The Learning Package 2026 came to a close with the presentation of certificates of attendance to the learners.

The 2026 edition of the Learning Package organised by the Centre for the Study of the Social Sciences and Research (Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire, CSRS) came to a close on Friday 26 June 2026, with a closing ceremony rich in symbolism and emotion, jointly presided over by the outgoing Director of the CSRS, Prof Inza KONE and the incoming Director, Prof Jérémie ZOUEU.

Held from 22 to 26 June 2026 in the Norbert Béhi Hall, the 2026 Learning Package aimed to provide new researchers and staff with epistemological, ethical and practical tools to become competitive and demonstrate excellence in their day-to-day work. Organised by the Research Support Unit (UAR) and coordinated by Dr Kanny DIALLO and Dr Gilbert FOKOU, this edition focused on the theme: ‘Data management in a research institution and in scientific research projects in the era of augmented governance ”.

The training comprised around ten modules covering a thorough understanding of institutional rules and procedures; the design and technical and financial management of a research project; the organisation of data collection, data analysis and the drafting of scientific articles; the effective management of literature reviews, as well as the appropriate use of the collaborative tools made available, cybersecurity and digital hygiene; and the ability to communicate with non-scientific stakeholders both before and after projects.

The training course was attended by around fifteen participants, comprising researchers and staff from the CSRS, researchers from the Oceanographic Research Centre (CRO), a doctor from the Treichville University Hospital (CHU) and a journalist from the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP). The latter expressed their gratitude to the CSRS and the UAR for the initiative, the calibre of the trainers, the relevance of the modules and the knowledge gained. The trainers, most of whom were present at the ceremony, were warmly thanked for their availability and commitment throughout the sessions.

In a moving moment at the closing ceremony, the two Directors took turns to present certificates to the participants, thereby acknowledging their commitment and attendance throughout the week-long training course.

This 2026 edition once again confirms the importance of the Learning Package in developing the capacities of CSRS researchers and staff.

The next edition is scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2027.
