Tiassalé - Volontaires du projet, équipe GLP CSRS et équipe VESTERGAARD
From July 28 to August 1, 2026, the Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques (CSRS), through the Group of Clinical Expertise and Vector Control Studies (GECELV), welcomed a delegation from Vestergaard, led by Dr. Rinki Deb (Lead Scientist, Public Health) and Dr. Oscar Mbare (Technical Programme Manager).
This visit, organized under the coordination of Professor Koudou Guibéhi (GECELV Coordinator and GLP Test Facility Manager at CSRS), provided an opportunity to: (i) review the progress of studies funded by VESTERGAARD and implemented by GECELV; (ii) present the infrastructure supporting project implementation, particularly the insectaries and technical testing platforms; (iii) visit the laboratories and discuss ongoing studies; (iv) travel to the field in Tiassalé and the Taabo/Yamoussoukro area to gain firsthand insight into the operational realities of the trials and surveys underway; (v) meet with local health authorities as well as the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP), key stakeholders in the areas where the work is being carried out.
These exchanges allowed the GECELV team, led by Professor Koudou, and the VESTERGAARD delegation to further analyze the results of ongoing studies, discuss key technical issues in vector control, and identify new avenues for collaboration.
This visit reflects the strength and depth of the partnership between GECELV and VESTERGAARD, as well as their shared commitment to ensuring that the research conducted concretely addresses the needs of stakeholders involved in the fight against malaria and vector-borne diseases.
Many thanks to the entire VESTERGAARD team for this enriching visit, and to all CSRS staff who contributed to its success !
