On Friday, December 12, 2025, the CSRS research axis “Animal Health, Human Health, and Environmental Health (ESAH)” held its annual scientific outing. It featured three major activities:
1. Visit to the aquaculture station at the Layo Oceanographic Research Center (CRO);
2. Lunch;
3. Award ceremony in recognition of the thesis defenses in this field.
As part of the visit, she gave members of the ESAH group an opportunity to learn about the Layo aquaculture station. This station, which is currently undergoing renovation, aims to identify the fish species present in Ivorian waters with a view to domesticating them and helping to boost local production. To date, three species have been domesticated according to the CRO: tilapia, machoiron, and catfish. Research is continuing to expand the range of domesticated species.
After the walks, discoveries, and discussions at the Layo aquaculture station, the ESAH group headed to Abadjin-Doumé for a meal during which the new doctors of the 2025 program were celebrated. They are Drs. Missa Firmin, Kadio Yves, Tia Bleu, Ekra Armand, Kouamé Jackson, Bellai Louise, and Cissé Khadidjatou.
