Abidjan, August 12, 2025 (AIP) – Winner of the 2025 Award of Excellence for Best Teacher-Researcher, Professor Inza Koné presented his award to the president of Félix Houphouët-Boigny University (UFHB) in Cocody (Abidjan), Professor Ballo Zié, thereby affirming the central role of the institution in his academic and scientific achievements.


During the presentation ceremony held on Monday, August 11, 2025, Prof. Ballo Zié expressed his pride in this national recognition. This award honors the entire academic institution. “It is not only a personal victory, but an encouragement for all UFHB teacher-researchers to pursue excellence,” he emphasized.

The director of the Biosciences Training and Research Unit (UFR), senior lecturer Chérif Mamadou, praised the collective commitment that contributed to this success.


“Your support has never failed me,” said Mr. Inza Koné, full professor of conservation biology at the Biosciences UFR and director general of the Swiss Center for Scientific Research in Côte d'Ivoire.


The award, presented by President Alassane Ouattara during National Excellence Day 2025, recognizes the quality and depth of Prof. Koné's scientific output, the excellence of his teaching, and the tangible impact of his research on primate conservation.


For UFHB, this distinction reinforces its position as a major center of scientific production in Côte d'Ivoire and demonstrates its contribution to the country's influence on the international academic and environmental scene.
