The Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques (CSRS) in Côte d’Ivoire celebrated the dedication and excellence of its staff during the first Labor Day celebration held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at its headquarters in Adiopodoumé, on the road to Dabou.

This celebration was also part of the 75th anniversary of this scientific research institution.

Speaking on behalf of the CSRS Director General, Prof. Cissé Guéladio highlighted the historical and social significance of Labor Day, while emphasizing the value of work in human life.

“Work is the pillar of life, but exploitative labor cannot be accepted,” he emphasized, while also praising the climate of social dialogue that prevails within the center.

Professor Cissé congratulated the organizers of this inaugural event and expressed his hopes for success and professional fulfillment for the entire staff. For his part, Ali Koné, the human resources manager and chair of the organizing committee, paid tribute to the dedication of the center’s employees.

“Today, we are writing a new chapter in the history of the CSRS with this first edition of Labor Day. It is a special moment to celebrate what makes us strong: the researchers, employees, and all our collaborators,” he stated.

According to him, this initiative is intended to be a symbol of solidarity, recognition, and cohesion, destined to become an annual event for the institution.

The staff representative, Lobé Martial, for his part, praised the determination and team spirit of the staff, while paying tribute to the workers who have reached retirement age.

“The work we do isn’t always easy, but we’re making progress thanks to our collective commitment,” he said, urging staff to uphold the values of unity, mutual respect, and solidarity.

He also expressed the staff’s gratitude to the CSRS executive management for their efforts to improve working conditions.

The ceremony concluded with a conference on workplace well-being led by a delegation from the National Social Security Fund, followed by first-aid demonstrations conducted by the Catholic Scouts of Côte d’Ivoire.
