Songon, Dec. 30, 2025 (AIP) – The Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques (CSRS) en Côte d’Ivoire plans to revitalize its scientific collaboration in the field with the Centre National de Recherche Agronomique (CNRA) to transform their geographical proximity into a “scientific strike force” serving the country’s development.

The Director General of the CSRS, Prof. Inza Koné, expressed this ambition during the second edition of the Institutional Science Day held on December 17, 2025, at the football field of the National Agricultural Research Center (CNRA) in Adiopodoumé, according to a press release sent to the AIP.

“The framework has been created to facilitate future exchanges. It's never too late to do better. We have collaborated in the past. There is still collaboration today, but not to the desired extent. We wholeheartedly support this collaboration between the CSRS, the CNRA, and the Pasteur Institute,” said Prof. Inza Koné.

According to the CEO of the CSRS, this desire for closer ties will no longer be limited to mere intentions. In concrete terms, it will involve establishing mechanisms to bring together joint teams to tackle common issues such as climate change, food security, and emerging health crises.

“It is important to find a mechanism for this, and I think that starting with small steps through sport is already significant,” added Prof. Koné.

By joining forces, the CSRS and the CNRA aim to optimize the use of public and private resources while increasing the international visibility of Ivorian science. This synergy should attract more international funding and partnerships with the private sector, particularly in the coffee-cocoa, cashew nut, and large-scale food crop sectors.
