From Tuesday June 04 to Wednesday June 05, 2024, Prof. Koudou Benjamin, specialist in clinical research and vector control and Director of Research and Development at CSRS, led the IVCC delegation (Dr. Graham Small, IVCC Senior Technical Manager; Dr. Laura Roberts, IVCC Communication Manager) and the CSRS Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) team to Tiassalé for two days of intensive workshops with local authorities and communities, and visits to laboratories and experimental huts. Mrs Ehouman Goro Zita, representative of the Prefect, kicked off the workshop at the Prefecture, surrounded by local authorities and partner institutions.

The aim of these 2-day meetings with the local community was to explain to them the validity of the research activities carried out in Tiassalé by the CSRS over the years, and their impact on reducing the rate of transmission by malaria vectors.

All the objectives of this mission were achieved:

1: Exchange information on the results of CCSVI-funded projects currently underway;

2: To present the results of CSRS's research work over the past 10 years to local stakeholders and authorities;

3: Lay the plaque symbolizing the collaboration between CSRS, IVCC and USAID in the fight against malaria, and outline the activities to be undertaken as part of this new project;

4: Discuss the involvement of Tiassalékro's volunteer sleepers in research projects.
