The mission of the Accounting and Finance Department is to strengthen and perpetuate the sound financial management of the CSRS in accordance with the various agreements signed with donors.

Directly attached to the Administrative and Financial Department of the CSRS, its activities include

Accounting and financial management of the CSRS, projects and programs
Planning and monitoring of budget execution
Preparation of financial statements in accordance with the provisions of the OHADA accounting system (SYSCOHADA) in its simplified form to take into account the specificity of the center's activities and the expectations of donors
Planning and monitoring of CSRS audits and projects
Implementation of auditors' recommendations in the framework of internal control and financial management
The establishment of financial reports of projects in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the various agreements
Recovery and mobilization of financial resources
Support to researchers for the proper management of funds allocated to their projects.


As with traditional activities, the department has the challenge of managing a hybrid accounting system in relation to the administrative context of the CSRS and that of the scientific research field. In addition, it must remain in line with the management requirements of each of the donors, each of which is as unique as the next.

Under the supervision of a Head of Department, the department is composed of 3 experienced accountants in charge of projects, programs and operations.

The department is perfectly bilingual and has proven expertise in managing large projects and programs with cumulative funding of up to ten billion CFA francs.
